This study investigates user satisfaction and comfort in the context of green buildings through a comprehensive case study conducted in Lagos, Nigeria. Focusing on selected buildings, the research explores an analytical descriptive methodology to study sustainable design principles with occupant well-being in an urban environment and the economic and social benefits of sustainable building in an environment. The study evaluates factors such as indoor air quality, thermal comfort, natural lighting,
sustainable materials, motion features, and spatial layout, by examining the interplay of these factors within the specific context of Lagos, the study aims to uncover insights into occupants’ experiences, preferences, and awareness. The findings contribute to understanding how green buildings can enhance occupants’ well-being while addressing local challenges and needs. This study provides valuable guidance for architects, designers, and stakeholders striving to create sustainable and user centric built environments in Lagos and beyond.
